UPON RETIREMENT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
COUNTY OF BUTTE
WHEREAS, Don Becker, Civil Engineering -Supervisor for the Department of Public Works, announced
his retirement as of December 31, 1996; and
WHEREAS, Don Becker began his career with the County of Butte in 1962, as an Assistant Civil
Engineer, in the Department of Public Works, advancing within the Department in responsible engineering
positions, to become Civil Engineering -Supervisor, his present position; and
WHEREAS, Don Becker worked in the public works engineering and construction fields for many years,
including 2S years in responsible charge of the bridge design and construction program, where he was involved in
the construction of over 7S new bridges; and
WHEREAS, Don Becker has earned the respect of fellow employees, engineers, surveyors, contractors,
and others involved in public works activities in Butte County, and has diligently served the residents of the
County of Butte for 34 years with extraordinary distinction and leadership;
NOW, THERERORE, BE YT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own. behalf and on behalf of the
residents of the County of Butte, wish to express to Don Becker sincere appreciation for his many years of unselfish
dedication and outstanding service rendered to the residents of the County of Butte, and further wish him well on
his retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, this
10th day of December 1996, by the following vote:
AYES. Supervisors Meyer, Dolan, Houx, Thomas and Chair Mcl;aughlin
