WHEREAS, Southside Oroville has a documented need for a centrally located Community
Center to provide a wide variety of programs and services for the benefit of all age and ethnic groups;
WHEREAS, members of the Southside Oroville community have worked diligently over the
past nine months to develop a Master Plan for a Community Center;
WHEREAS, the Southside Community Center Executive Committee seeks to involve the
support, resources and participation of all relevant parties who are interested in the positive and
prosperous future of Southside Oroville; and,
WHEREAS, making the dream of afull-service Community Center come true will require
a comprehensive effort of the entire Butte County community;
NOW THEREFORE, the Butte County Boazd of Supervisors does hereby proclaim its
support of the Southside Oroville Community Center project, and strongly urges all citizens,
businesses, agencies and service clubs to commit their time, energy and resources to this important
community project that will cross all age, ethnic and jurisdictional lines far a healthier Butte County
overall.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors on this 1 o rh day of
December , 1996, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Meyer, Dolan, Houx, Thomas and Chair McLaughlin

RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING SUPPORT FOR THE
