HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-135WHEREAS, the County of Butte is deeply indebted to its hardworking corps of ' library volunteers who have sel#lessly donated thousands of hours of service to the library branches of the County. WHEREAS, during the 1995-96 fiscal year 248 adult and teen volunteers contributed 9.5 FTE of time in addition to 21 Literacy tutors who provided 626 hours of individualized learning to adult students. The value of these efforts to the County is in excess of $130,000 per year. WHEREAS, the volunteers aid at the cixculation desks, process new books, mend damaged books, shelve books, assist with the request process, work in the cataloging department, create art displays, tutor adult learners, and provide countless other valuable services. WHEREAS, these volunteers are vital to the operation of the County Library NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, in recognition of their importance, the Butte County board of Supervisors hereby honors the Library Volunteers, and thanks them far their devotion to the ideals of lifelong learning.
