HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-144PROCLAMATION OF E~STENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY (By Director of Emergency Services} WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Services of the County of Butte does hereby find: That conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within said County, in that commencing an or about 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 1996 a succession of wind and rainstorms has resulted in the widespread flooding of low lying residential and agricultural areas in Butte County causing and threatening significant property damage. In addition the National Weather Service has advised that significant, additional rain is expected to continue. Should these wind and rainstorms continue, additional flooding, property damage and loss of life may occur; and That the Board of Supervisors is not in session (and cannot. immediately be called into session.) NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED that a local emergency naw exists throughout said County; and IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that during the existence of said local emergency the powers, functions and duties of the emergency organization of this County shall be those prescribed by State law, by charter, ordinance, resolutions of this County, and by the County of Butte Emergency Plan, as approved by the Board of Supervisors on December 10, 1996. ~~~ns lea ~ Dated: December 31, 199b.
