RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE STATEMENT OF MULTICULTURAL
NORMS AND STANDARDS
FOR THE GREATER OROVILLE COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, the county honors the need for racial and ethnic harmony in all
community settings and in community programs.
WHEREAS, developing harmony and behaviors to achieve an atmosphere where
learning about differences and. heritages is encouraged and accepted as follows:
• Everyone is treated as a human being, with dignity and respect;
• Everyone honors the differences and recognizes similarities in our
community which consistently produces behavior that is fair and objective;
• Everyone feels comfortable, safe and accepted;
• lweryone stays connected to one another as human beings;
• Everyone treats others as helshe wishes to be treated;
• We appreciate each other;
• Good role models exist for everyone throughout the community; and,
• Opportunities exist for everyone to fully actualize their talents/skills.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Soard of Supervisor
that it hereby endorses the Statement for Multicultural Norms and Standards for the Greater
Oroville Community.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte this
11th day of February, 1997, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Feeler, Dolan, i3oux, Josiassen and Chair Davis
