HomeMy WebLinkAbout97-022~ " k ~ ,~ y_ h• R~~svlufion I~'o. 97-22 RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SYSTEM OF CARE TO SERVE THE SEVERELY EMOTIONALLY AND BEHAVIORALLY DISTURBED CHILDREN AND FAMILIES OF BUTTE COUNTY WHEREAS, Butte County Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Services (ADMH) has entered to Memorandums of Understanding with. various agencies to better serve seriously emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children and their families as defined in Section 5868 of the Welfare and Institutions Code: WHEREAS, the Butte Caunty Board of Supervisors created a Children's Services Coordinating Council {CSCC) for interagency policy planning pursuant to Section 5866{b) of the Welfare and Institutions Code; WHEREAS, Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health has established community based counseling centers to better serve children and families; WHEREAS, the community based system of care model is aimed at reducing out of home placement casts and supporting families; WHEREAS, counties that receive System of Care funding shall demonstrate a maintenance of effort in children's funding and may reinvest a portion of savings from reduction in out of home placement costs into children's services; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors supports and endorses the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Department's proposal to the State Department of Mental Health to establish a comprehensive System of Care to serve the severely emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children and families of Butte County.
