BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

WHEREAS, the County acknowledges the state mandate set forth in
Assembly Bill 939 requiring a significant reduction in solid waste flow;
and,
WHEREAS, the County has studied its Solid Waste Management Program in
light of this mandate and has approved the creation of the position of
Recycling Coordinator; and,
WHEREAS, the Board has requested that it be informed as to the
continued need far the position of Recycling Coordinator in the future as
well as additional changes to the Solid Waste Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that:
The Administrative Office and the Public Works Department shall report
to the Board upon the status of the Solid Waste Program generally and the
continued need for the Recycling Coordinator position, staff and other
county resources devoted to the program. This report shall be timely made
to the Board so that it may be considered and included as part of its
consideration and deliberation of and for the 1999-2000 budget.
