RESOLUTION WAIVING BUILDING PERMIT FEES FOR
ALL BUILDING PERMITS ISSUED IN RELATIONSHIP TO REPORTS OF
DAMAGE TO THE DAMAGE ASSESSMENT CENTER DURING
THE 1996-97 WINTER STORMS
WHEREAS, the County of Butte suffered extension damage during the 1996-
97 winter storms and a proclamation of existence of a local emergency {Resolution No. 96-
145) was adapted by the Board of Supervisors on December 31, 1996; which was
continued by Resolution No. 97-05 on January 14, 1997, and by Resolution No. 97-09 on
January 28, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Damage Assessment Center received 127
reports of damage from the 1996-97 winter storms; and
WHEREAS, these reports identified extensive agricultural, structural, and soil
erosion damage; and
WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors does hereby find that the aforesaid
conditions of extreme peril did warrant and necessitate the need to waive building permit
fees for all building permits issued in relationship to reports of damage to the Damage
Assessment Center during the 1996-97 winter storms; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte that the Department of Development Services is directed to take the
following actions:
1. Waive building permit fees far all building permits issued in
relationship to reports of damage to the Damage Assessment Center;
and
2. Refund building permit fees paid by permittees who reported damage
and have already received permits far correcting damage or
demolition.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, on the 13tH day of May , 1997, by the following votes:
