HomeMy WebLinkAbout97-093CCJUNT~' OE'~ ~t1~; STAtE C~ C~4~.`C3 r h ~,s~>f t1~ i~~rt _~`~~. 97-93 RESOLUTION AGREEING TO THE TAX SPLIT BETWEEN THE TOWN OF PARADISE AND THE COUNTY OF BUTTE FOR 97-11 -Reorganization -Town of ParadiselParadise Irrigation District Lovett Lane Annexation District No. 1 WHEREAS, Dale and Genevieve Gross have petitioned the Local Agency Formation Commission for annexation of certain property to the Town of Paradise, and WHEREAS, the master property tax agreement entitled, "Agreement Between Butte County and Cities regarding the Negotiated Exchange of Property Tax Revenue related to Jurisdictional Change" in accordance with Revenue and Taxation Code Section 99, as amended, does not specify the sharing ratio between the Town of Paradise and the County of Butte; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for an agreement to be reached on the exchange of property taxes between the two entities before the annexation can be legally complete. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows: That the Tawn of Paradise agrees to a property tax split for the above-mentioned annexation with fifty-six percent {56°I°) of the property tax revenue allocable to the town and county to be retained by the town, and forty-four percent (44%) of said property tax revenue to be paid to the county. Said 56144 percent split to be effective July 1, 1996, and remain in effect until otherwise agreed to by the town and county through an appropriate agreement. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, on the 8tti day of July , 1997, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Dolan, Houx, Josiassen and Chair Davis NOES: None ABSTAINS: None ABSENT: None ATTEST: JOHN S.
