RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DISTRICT' ATTORNEY AND THE SHERIFF
TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT OF 1994
WHEREAS, the National Defense Authorization Act of 1994 allows local law enforcement
agencies to participate in procurement programs to purchase excess military equipment at
government cost for use in counter-drug activities; and
WHEREAS the Butte County District Attorney and the Butte County Sheriff wish to
participate in the procurement programs to purchase equipment for counter-drug activities; and
WHEREAS, the approval of the Board of Supervisors and the concurrence of the Chief
Administrative Officer are required prior to participation in the procurement programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, I3E IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors hereby approves
the participation of the District Attorney and the Sheriff in the procurement programs of the National
Defense Autharization Act of 1994 and acknowledges the concurrence of the Chief Administrative
Officer. Acquisition of fixed assets requires prior approval of the Board of Supervisors.
PASSES AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, on this 12th day of August 1997, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Dolan, Houx, Josiassen and Chair Davis
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
