HomeMy WebLinkAbout97-125RESOLUTION RETURNING THE BUTTE COUNTY DEPARTMENTS OF BOARD OF SUPERVISORS (BUDGET UNIT 010-001), AD1~91N1STRATNE (BUDGET UNIT 020-001), ADMINISTRATIVE-CLERK OF THE BOARD (BUDGET UNIT 020-002), ADMINISTRATIVE- GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION (BUDGET UNIT 020-003), ADMINISTRATIVE-PURCHASING (BUDGET UNIT 060-002}, ADMINISTRATIVE-EMERGENCY SERVICES (BUDGET UNIT 060-003), PERSONNEL {BUDGET UNIT 090-00]}, COUNTY COUNSEL {BUDGET UNIT 100- 001}, SHERIFF-CORONER-CONSENT DECREE (BUDGET UNIT 361-001), AGRICULTURAL DEPARTMENT-WATER DIVISION (BUDGET UN1T 441-001), AGRICULTURAL DEPARTMENT (BUDGET UNIT 460-001), PUBLIC WORKS- YARD AND STORES (BUDGET UNIT 530-005), PUBLIC WORKS-ROAD MAINTENANCE (BUDGET UNIT 530-025}, PUBLIC WORKS-TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS (BUDGET UNIT 531-002), ADMINISTRATIVE-SELF-INSURANCE (BUDGET UNIT 7]0-001), ADMINISTRATIVE-CENTRAL STORES {BUDGET UNIT 724-001), ADMINISTRATIVE- CENTRAL COMMUNICATIONS (BUDGET UNIT 725-001 }INFORMATION SYSTEMS (BUDGET UNIT 704-001), LIBR.ARY- LITERACY GRANT (BUDGET UN1T 629-001), LIBRARY (BUDGET UNIT 630-001), ADMINISTRATIVE-BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE (BUDGET UMT 720-001), AND ADMINISTRATIVE-CENTRAL DUPLICATING {BUDGET [JNIT 723-001) TO A 40 HOUR WORK WEEK WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors previously adopted Ordinance No. 3103 reducing the County work week from 40 hours to 36 hours; WHEREAS, the 40-Hour Work Week Committee of the Management Council was formed to investigate the feasibility of restoring all county departments to a 40-hour work week; W1-IEREAS, it is the intent of the Board of Supe~ti•isors to gradually return all county departments to a 40-hour work week and to enhance services to the public, while recognizing the constraints of limited county resources; AND WHEREAS, Resolution 97-53 in recognizing Butte County's current fiscal constraints, expressed the intent of the Board of Supervisors to restore certain departments to a 40-hour work week; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding (1994-199?) between the County of Butte and Butte County Employees' Association General Unit, (Section $.04), and the Butte County Management Employees' Association, (Section 7.04), employees in all classifications in the offices of Board of Supervisors (Budget Unit 010-001), Administrative (Budget Unit 020-001), Administrative- Clerk of the Board (Budget Unit 020-002), Administrative-General Services Administration (Budget Unit 020-003), Administrative-Purchasing (Budget Unit 060-002), Administrative- Emergency Services (Budget Unit 060-003), Personnel (Budget Unit 090-001), County Counsel (Budget Unit 100-001), Sheriff-Coroner-Consent Decree (Budget Unit 361-001 }, Agricultural Department-Water Division (Budget Unit 441-001), Agricultural Department (Budget Unit 460-001), Public Works-Yard and Stores (Budget Unit 530-005), Public Works- Road Maintenance (Budget Unit _530-025), Public Works-Transportation Systems (Budget Unit 531-002), Administrative-Self Insurance (Budget Unit 710-001), Administrative-Central Stores (Budget Unit 724-001), Administrative- Central Communications (Budget Unit 725- 001)Information Systems (Budget Unit 704-001), Library-Literacy Grant (Budget Unit 629- 001), Library (Budget Unit 630-001), Administrative-Buildin~~s and Grounds Maintenance (Budget Unit 720-001), and Administrative-Central Duplicating (Budget Unit 723-001), are returned to a 40-hour per week schedule, effective the 1" day of November , 1997.
