RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE BOUNDARIES OF A
TARGETED EMPLOYMENT AREA AS REQUIRED BY THE
ENTERPRISE ZONE ACT OF 1996
WHEREAS, a California Enterprise Zone has been legally established under
prior enabling legislation; and
WHEREAS, a targeted employment area for the Oroville Enterprise Zone is
required by the Enterprise Zone Act of 1996; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to establish by Resolution the boundaries of a
targeted employment area; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors as follows:
1. The Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby declares, pursuant to
the provisions of the Enterprise Zone Act of 1996, Chapter 12.8,
Division 7 of Title 1 of the Government Code, that the targeted
employment area of the Oroville Enterprise Zone shall be those
census tracts 2500, 2600, 2700, 2800, 2900, 3000, 3100, 3200, and
3300 designated on the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and by
this reference incorporated hereat.
2. That census tracts 2500, 2600, 2700, 2800, 2900, 3000, 3100, 3200
and 3300 designated on Exhibit "A" meet the requirements for greater
than fifty one percent (51 °I°) of residents at low- or moderate-income
as established by the Department of Housing and Urban
Development using the most recent United States Department of
census data.
3. That census tracts 2500, 2600, 2700, 2800, 2900, 3000, 3100, 3200,
and 3300 designated on Exhibit "A" are under the jurisdiction of the
City of Oroville and/or County of Butte with jurisdiction of the
Enterprise Zone.
4. The Butte County Clerk of the Board shall attest to adoption of this
Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, on the 23rd day of necember , 1997, by the following votes:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Dolan, Houx, Chair Davis
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Josiassen
