A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICATION AND CONTRACT EXECUTION
FOR FUNDING FROM TIIE DISASTER RECOVERY INITIATIVE ALLOCATION OF
THE STATE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM AND
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT AND ANY
AMENDMENTS THERETO WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR THE
PURPOSES OF THIS GRANT
WHEREAS, the County has received Notice of Funding Availability for up to $500,000.00 for Public Works
Flood Control Infrastructure repair and improvements from the CDBG program, under the Disaster Recoti~ery

WEtEREAS, the funding only applies to recovery from the 1997 winter storms, and is open to viral
jurisdictions through a competitive process, and
VVIIEREAS, the program activities require benc6ts to low and moderate income groups, and
WHEREAS, Public Works has identified hvo projects that appear eligible, Dead Horse Slough in
Chapmantawn and Palermo Arca Drainage improvements, and
WHEREAS, the application deadline is January 21, 1)98.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Butte County as follows:
SECTION 1.
The Board of Supervisors has rcvietived and hereby approves an application for up to:
Actiti=ity (projects)
Dead Horse Slough Drainage $152,500.00
Palermo Arca Drainage 207,500.00
Sub Total $3G0,000.00
General Administration $ 90,000.00
Activity Delivery $ 50,000.00
Total $500,000.00
SECTION 2.
If the grant application is approved, the County will provide local leverage as follows:
Regulatory Rclicf: Ehpedite permit processing by
assigning first priority for all phases of
the project.
SECTION 3.
The Chief Administrative Officer is hereby authorized and directed to act an the County's behalf in all matters
pertaining to this application.
SECTION 4.
If the application is approved, the Chief Administrative Officer is authorized to enter into and sign the grant
agreement and any amendments thereto with the State of California for the purpose of this grant.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at the regular meeting of the Butte County Board of Supervisors held on
January 13 , 1998 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Dolan, Houx, Josiassen and Chair Davis
