RI?S01,UTION APPOINTING WARNER PHILLIPS
TO THE POSI'hION OF
[)EPU'T1' COUNTY SURVEI'OR
WHEREAS, the Business and Professional Code of the State of California provides at Section 573 I
for the licensing of land surveyors, exempting, among other Civil engineers who became re<~istered before
January I, 1952; and,
\~'I IFIZEAS, ~~'arier ('billies vas registered as a civil engineer before that date; and,
Sul IEREAS, Article X, Section 3(t) of the Butte County Charter provides that the County Road
f:n~~ineer shall also hold :tnd perform the duties of the ot~ice of County Surveyor and Article X Section g of
the butte (.'aunty (.'barter provides that the position of County Road En~4ineer shall include the af~kice of the
Director of Public ~?~~arl:s; and,
~~y'[[ERIAS, the Govenu~~ent Code of the State of California provides at Section 24100 the "Every
county or district officer, except a supervisor or judicial of)icer, may appoint as many deputies as arc
iucessar~~ for the prompt and f<tithiul discharge ot'the duties of his at3ice."
NOyi', "I'11EREFORF,, BE l~' RESOLVE_D AND ORDERED that Warner Phillips be appointed to
the position of Deputy County Surveyor.
