working parents in our community; and
WHEREAS, it is a guiding policy of the Butte County Board of Supervisors to encourage
the development of adequate, affordable, quality child care; and
WHEREAS, it is a policy of the Butte County Board of Supervisors to continue to support
and expand child care provided to families with low incomes; and
WHEREAS, recent Federal and State Welfare Reform law requires Welfare to-work
activities for all Butte County recipients of public assistance, and additional adequate, aff~~rdable,
quality child care will be necessary to meet the additional needs; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors supports Inca( child care information
and referral services and recruitment of child care services.
NOW, THERF.FORF,, I3E IT RF,SOLVF.D, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
hereby proclaims the week of January 26- ~ 1, 1998 as Child Care Careers Week.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 13th day of
January 1998 by the following; vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Dolan, Houx, Josiassen and Chair Davis
