CALIFC~t2(~l{~ <~. ,,. .~ ~esolufion No. ~a-L~ RESOLUTION AMENDING THE COMPOSITION OF THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES (ADA) ADVISORY COMMIT"T'EE WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has established the ADA Advisory Committee pursuant to Resolution No. 92-91 and WHEREAS ,the Board of Supervisors desires to change the composition of the ADA Advisory Committee by deleting the membership of the General Services Director and the membership of the Risk Manager and add the membership of County Counsel or designee and the Chair of the Management Council. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVF,D by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California as follows: 1. Resolution 92-91 is superseded in its entirety by this resolution. 2. The Board of Supervisors fully supports efforts to end discrimination in employments services, and programs against qualified disabled individuals. 3. T'he Director-Personnel is hereby designated as the County's ADA Compliance Officer. 4. The duties of the Compliance Officer shall include: a) Assuring County compliance with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act with regard to County employment, services, and programs. b) Review and recommend amendments to the Board of Supervisors of the County's Merit System and Personnel Rules to assure compliance with the ADA. c} Prepare an annual report to the Board of Supervisors of efforts to comply with the ADA. There shall be an ADA Advisory Committee. The committee shall be comprised of the following persons: a} Chief Administrative Ofticcr, or his/her designee, b) Director-Personnel, or his/her designee; c) County Counsel, or his/her designee; d) Chair- Management Council e) Safety Officer. 6. The duties of the Advisory Committee shall include, but not be limited to: a) Providing technical guidance to the ADA Compliance Officer; b) Directing periodic reviews of the County"s buildings and structures for ADA compliance; c) Making recommendations for physical alterations of the workplace for disabled employes; d) Other advisory functions as it deems necessary to assure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act PASSED AND ADOP"l'ED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 27th day of January , 1998, by the following vote: A E Supervisors Beeler, Do1_an, Roux, Josiassen and Chair Davis NOES: None ABSENT: None - -~' .
