RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TBE COUNTY OF BUTTE
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS
WITH INDEPENDENT SERVICE CONTRACTORS
WHEREAS, the purchasing agent for the County of Butte is currently authorized to enter
into agreements with independent contractors to provide services to County of{ices and
departments where the aggregate cost of an agreement does not exceed ten thousand dollars

WHEREAS, Uovernment Code section 25502.5 provides authority to the Board of
Supervisors in counties having a population greater than 200,000 to authorize the purchasing
agent to approve agreements with independent contractors in an aggregate amount not to exceed
one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000);
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors desires to implement efficiency measures to
expedite and streamline the processing of routine contract items which are funded within
approved Levels of appropriations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of California, as follows:
1. The Board of Supervisors hereby authorize the County's purchasing agent to
engage independent contractors to perform contractual services for the County, with or without
the furnishing of materials, where the aggregate cost does not exceed twenty live thousand dollars
($25,000} as permitted under Government Code section 25502.5.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte. State of
California, this 10th day of 1~ebruary, 1998 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors F3eeler. Roux, Josiassen and Chair Davis
