RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE SIXTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE
LATINO YOUTH LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE COMMITTEE IN MARCH 1998

WHEREAS, the Latino Youth Leadership Conference is an annual two-day educational and
inspirational event that strives to ensure Latino students successfully complete high school and pursue
a higher education degree; and
WHEREAS, the Latino Youth Leadership Conference provides encouragement and inspiration
to Latino youth; and
WHEREAS.. the Latino Youth Leadership Conference pravided hundreds of young people with
experiences and information to better their lives; and
WHEREAS, the Latino Youth Leadership Conference is honorably sponsored by the 1997 Gold

WHEREAS, the Latino Youth Leadership Conference is a positive way to help young people
take charge of their lives and their futures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors does
hereby support the Latino Youth Leadership Conference and encourages our Latino youth to participate
in this program and its activities, making a visible statement and commitment to a youth and a
community who will benefit from the success derived from the pursuit of higher education; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors salutes the Latino
Youth Leadership Conference on the occasion of its Sixth t~nniversary and wishes it continued success
for years to come.
