and the
BUTi'F, COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
APPROVING THE WELFARE-TO-WORK PLAN,
DESIGNATING THE WELFARE-TO-WORK .ADMINISTRATIVE F,NTITY
AND GRANTING SIGNATURE AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the Butte County Private Industry Council. Inc., was formed by the Board of Supervisors
in order to administer federal ;rant funds received pursuant to the Job Trainin~~ Partnership .Act of
102{2, (JTPA} as amended. and
WHEREAS. the newly created Welfare-to-Work (WtW} block grant is to be overseen and
administered by the same private industry councilllocul elected official partnership in the same
manner in which it administers JTPA, and
WHEREAS. Butte County Private Industry Council (PIC) Dave approved this joint resolution, ~~nd
WHEREAS, the State of California Employment Development Department (EDD) requires that in the
event Private Industry Council has insufficient assets to repay misspent JTPA or WtW funds to IDD,
the County. is liable to EDD.
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that
The Butte Gninry Board of Supervisors and the Butte County Private [ndustry
Council approve the attached ~VtW Plan and authorise their representatives to so
attest on the plan's signature page;
2. The Butte County Private Industry Council is designated to oversee and administer
WtW funds:
3. The President of the Private Industry Council is authorised to execlrte and sign all
WtW plans. modifications. adjustments. grants. grant applications, subgrant
agreements or any other WtW documents required by EDD or the United States
Department of Labor, subject to Private [ndustry Council`s policies and procedures;
AND BE IT FURTHER RF~SC)LVED that the signature authority so ~==ranted is effective until revoked
by action of this Board of Supervisors or by the Butte County Private [ndustry Council.
