RESOLUTION OF THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
HONORING GARY N. BROWN
WHEREAS, Gary N. Brown has served as the manager of Western Canal Water District
since December 1993; and
WHEREAS, Gary N. Brown, in his capacity as manager of Western Canal Water District,
was instrumental in the acquisition of funding to complete a siphon project beneath Butte Creek.
Completion of this project will help to preserve the spring-run of Chinook Salmon in Butte Creek;
and
WHEREAS. Clary N. Brown contribirtcd inmmcnsely to the continual development of the
Butte Basin Water Users Association; and
WHEREAS, Gary N. Brown exhibited exceptional leadership skills and professionalism in
all areas of his life; and
WHEREAS, Crary N. Brown tirelessly and cheerfully served the water community and his
family; and
WHEREAS, Gary N. Brown recently passed away after battling so hard to overcome the
illness that finally took his life. He faced this overwhelming ordeal with courage and dignity; and
WHEREAS, Gary N. Brown was a loyal and dedicated friend. He will be greatly missed
by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte Cowity Board of Supervisors
hereby determines that Gary N. Brown be recognized and honored for his unequaled dedication and
outstanding contribution and service to water issues in Butte County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 28th day of April
