RF,SOLIITION DESIGNATING THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA COUNCIL
FOR THE ARTS AS BUTTE COUNTY'S ARTS COUNCIL
WHEREAS, Butte County has no arts council; and
WHEREAS, Butte County would be eligible for State art funds should the county have an
arts council that meets the funding criteria of the California Arts Council's State-Local Partnership
Program; and
WHEREAS, the deadline for applying for State funds was January 23, 1998, and the
Northern California Council for the Arts has applied for funds on behalf of Butte County; and
WHEREAS. the California Arts Council informs Butte County that the Northern California
Council for the Arts is eligible to apply for funds if the County of Butte designates it as Butte
County's Arts Council; and
WHEREAS, the Northern California Council for the Arts has shown the desire and
motivation to merit being granted the title of Butte County`s Arts Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
does hereby designate the Northern California Arts Council as Butte County's Arts Council.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 12th day of May
1998 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
