RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING SEPTEMBER 13-19, 1998
AS ADULT DAY SERVICES WEEK IN BUTTE COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of California, Pete Wilson, has proclaimed
September ] 3-19, 1998 as Adult Day Services Week in the State of California and has encouraged
all Californians to learn more about the important role which Adult Day Services plays in the lives
of citizens throughout California; and
WHEREAS, the Peg Taylor Center for Adult Day Health Care is a leader in providing
quality adult day services in Chico and the surrounding area, and works closely with all other related
organizations to provide the best community services possible; and
WHEREAS, the Peg Taylor Center for Adult Day Health Care has a deep respect for our
area's senior population and younger, functionally impaired adults, and understands the importance
of remaining active and independent; and
WHEREAS, the Peg Taylor Center for Adult Day Health Care offers and provides a variety
of services to meet individual needs including health monitoring, physical, occupational and speech
therapies, nursing and personal care, dietary services including meals and counseling, social services
including care giver support groups, recreational activities and transportation. The Center is an
affordable, practical choice for adult care, providing fees based on a sliding scale for those not
covered by Medical or private insurance; and
WHEREAS, the Peg Taylor Center for Adult Day Health Care offers support for families
and others caring for loved ones, and the Center reaches out to expand services wherever possible;
and
WHEREAS, the County of }3utte has acknowledged the importance of the Peg Taylor Center
for Adult Day Health Care by providing grant funding to promote the availability of these programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
hereby proclaims September 13-19, 1998 as Adult Day Services Week in the County of Butte, and
encourages all citizens of the cotmty of Butte and its surrounding area to attend the Open House on
September 16, 1998. 4:00-6:00 p.m., at 124 Parmac Road in Chico, to learn more about the
important role which the Peg Taylor Center for Adult Day Health Care plays in the lives of local
citizens.

September ] 998, by the following vote:
