RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF ROBERT P. "BOB" BERNDT
UPON RETIREMENT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, Bob Berndt. Civil Engineering-Supervisor for the Department of Public
Works, announced his retirement as of December 30, 1998: and
WHEREAS, Bob Berndt began his career with the County of Butte in 1966 as a Junior
Civil Engineer in the Department of Public Works, advancing within the department in responsible
engineering positions, to become Civil Engineering-Supervisor, his present position; and
WHEREAS, Bob Berndt worked in the Public Works engineering and construction fields
for many years, including 25 years in responsible charge of the construction program; and
WHEREAS, Bob Berndt has earned the respect of fellow employees, engineers, surveyors,
contractors, and others involved in Public Works activities in Butte County, and has diligently
served the residents of the County of Butte for 32 plus years with extraordinary distinction and
leadership.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own behalf and on
behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, wish to express to Bob Berndt sincere appreciation
for his many years of unselfish dedication and outstanding service rendered to the residents of the
County of Butte, and further wish him 4ve11 on his retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, this 15`" day of December 1998 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Dolan, Houx, Josiassen and Chair Davis
NOES: Nane
