HomeMy WebLinkAbout98-178so~R~ o~ suP~~v~so~s COUNTY 4F BC7TtE, STATE C)F CALIFC7RtVIA Resolution No. 98-178 RESOLUTION APPOINTING THE BUTTE COUNTY MENTALLY ILL OFFENDER CRIME REDUCTION (MIOCR) STRATEGIC PLANNING COMMITTEE Whereas, the Board of Supervisors appoint a Strategic Planning Committee composed of the key stakeholders affected by the Mentally I11 Offender Crime Reduction Program; and Whereas, Senate Bi11 1485 establishes the Mentally I11 Offender Crime Reduction Program and provides $25 million to fund the project; and Whereas. Butte County can apply for $31,500 to develop a plan for reducing criminal justice costs by developing "...a continuum of swift, certain and graduated responses to reduce crime and criminal justice costs related to mentally ill offenders." NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors as follows: "l~he Board oi` Supervisors appoint the Sheriff-Coroner as the Chair of the Butte County Mentally Ill Offender Crime Reduction Strategic Planning Committee. ?. The Board of Supervisors authorize said Sheriff=Coroner to sign Butte County's planning application for State funding as well as related contracts, amendments, or extensions with the State of California. "The Board of Supervisors appoint the following individuals as members of the Butte County Mentally I11 Offender Crime Reduction Strategic Planning Committee: "The Honorable Gerald Hermansen, Larry Aldred, Ron Erickson, Mick Grey, Helen Harberts, .lim Massie, Scott Mackenzie, .iim Nylander, and Bill Pentico. 4. "hhe Board of Supervisors assures that the County of Butte will adhere to the requirements o1`the Board of Corrections and all conditions specified in the grant contract with the State of California in the expenditure of State funds received pursuant to said application. The Board of Supervisors certifies that all planning products will be developed and provided to the Board of Corrections no later than March 10. 1999. C. "l~he Board of Supervisors certifies that the County of Butte will invoice the Board of Corrections for all costs approved in the grant by no later than June ~0, 1999.
