AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 15 OF THE BUTTE COUNTY
CODE TO ESTABLISH A REWARD FOR LITTERING
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
2 California, do ordain as follows:
3 1. Chapter 15 of the Code of the County of Butte, State
.¢ of California is amended to read by adding Section 15-29 as follows
5 Section 15-29. REWARD FOR CONVICTION OF LITTERING.
g The County her eby offers a reward of ONE HUNDRED
7 DOLLARS ($100.00) for the giving of information
g leading to the ap prehension and conviction of any
9 person or persons placing, depositing or dumping,
10: or causing to be placed, deposited or dumped, any
11 garbage, swill, cans, bottles, papers, ashes, refuse,
12 carcass of any dead animal, offal, trash or rubbish
13 or any noisome, nauseous or offensive matter, or any
14 rocks or dirt, in or upon any public or private
15 highway or road, including any portion of the right
16 of way thereof, or in or upon any private property
17 into or upon which the public is admitted by easement
lg or license, or upon any private property without the
19 consent of the owner, or in or upon any public park
20 or other public property other than property designat-
21 ed or set aside for such purpose by the govexn3ng
2g board or body having charge thereof, or any private
23 property, or into any bay, lagoon, channel, river,
2¢ creek, slough, canal, lake or reservoir, or other
2g stream or body of water, or upon a bank, beach or
26 shore within 150 feet of the high water mark of any
27 such water, Such reward shall be paid upon order of
28 tl~ Board of Supervisors of the County upon and after
29 recommendations for such payment by the District
30 Attorney of the County, and the Board of Supervisors
3~. shall be the sole judge of the party or parties

2. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days
after its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15)
days afters its passage, it shall be published at least once
with the names of the Supervisors voting for or against the same
in a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of
California.

of Butte, State of California, this 13th day of August, 1968,
by the following vote:
