HomeMy WebLinkAbout990ORDINANCE N0. `~~ D 1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4 OF THE BUTTE` COUNTY CODE REGARDING IMPOUNDMENT OF DOGS 2 3' The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte do ordain 4 as follows: 5 1. Chapter 4 of the Code of the Cou my of Butte, State of 6 California, is amended to read by adding Section 4-10.1 as q follows: 8 It shall be the duty of the pound master to impound 9 all licensed dogs caught running at large anywhere 10 in the unincorporated areas of the county contrary 11 to the provisions of this code. Upon the taking up i2 of any such dog pursuant to this section, the pound 13' master shall ascertain from county license records 14 the owner of the impounded dog and forthwith give to 15 the owner a written notice thereof, and shall mail a 16 copy of said notice to the owner at the address 17 listed on the license application. The pound master 18 shall turn over any dog taken in by him to the owner 19 thereof after payment of the fee which fees shall be 20 the standard fees charged by the City or County which 21 operates the pound. Unless called for and redeemed 22 within I20 hours following impoundment any dog taken 23 up under the provisions of this section may be disposed 24 of by the pound master in the manner provided by the 25 City or County which operates the pound. 26 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days 2'7 after its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen C15) days 28 after its passage, it shall be published at least once with the 29 names of the Supervisors voting for or against the same in a 30 local newspaper published. in ttze County of Butte, State of 31 California. 32 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, 2tate of California, on this 27th day of August, 1968, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Dunaway, McKillop, Pryde and Chairman Maxon NOES : None ABSENT: Supervisor Howsden DON ZD L.
