HomeMy WebLinkAbout99-009WHEREAS, Philip E. Nelson, Supervisor-Environmental Health retired as of December 1,
1998; and
WHEREAS, Philip E. Nelson graduated from California State University, Chico, where he
received his Bachelors Degree in Biology. He became a Registered Sanitarian {Registered
Environmental Health Specialist) in 1973 while employed with Butte County as a trainee; and
WHEREAS, Philip E. Nelson has actively supported community improvement through his
church, school programs, and as a volunteer fireman; and
WHEREAS, Philip E. Nelson has diligently served the people of Butte County as a Supervising
Environmental Health Specialist for ten years dedicated to wastewater, domestic water and
environmental hazard abatement services for Southern Butte Count};and
WHEREAS, under Philip E. Nelson's leadership, Southern Butte County residents consistently
received courteous and responsive customer service; and
WHEREAS, Philip E. Nelson has set an example of dedication and service through a career of
accepting the increasing Butte County responsibility from a trainee to a registered professional, to a
specialist, and ultimately a supervisor in the field of Environmental Health Management.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board on its own behalf and on behalf of
the residents of Butte County, would like to express their appreciation for the dedication and devotion
given by Philip E. Nelson during his 26 years of service to the people of the County of Butte, and wish
him well on his retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 26th day of January
1999 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Davis, Houx, Josiassen and Chair Dolan
