RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE
RENAMING THE CHILDREN'S TRUST FUND TO THE
FRANK WATTERS MF,MORIAL CHILDREN'S TRUST FUND
WHEREAS, the Butte County Children's "Trust Fund was established in 1982 under
Assembly Bill 2994 which allowed counties to use monies collected from duplicate birth
certificates solely for the purpose of funding child abuse prevention and intervention programs
and
WHEREAS, through a cooperative public-private effort, the Children's Trust Fund was
expanded in October of 1994 to allow taxpayers the opportunity to contribute to the Children's
Trust Fund and to direct all funds to non-profit community agencies for the specific purpose of
providing in-home parenting skills training, a parent help line to support parents in crisis, and
parenting classes; and
WHEREAS, Frank Watters was instrumental in developing and maintaining this unique
public-private effort aimed at utilizing tax deductible donations to improve the lives of children
within Butte County; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Children's Services Coordinating Council recommends
that the Children's Trust Fund be renamed the Frank Watters Memorial Children's Trust Fund in
honor and recognition of Frank Watters' personal effort and generous donations to the Children's
Trust Fund and to the overall well being of the children of Butte County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of California, that the Children's Trust Fund be renamed the Frank Watters
Memorial Children's Trust Fund.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors on this 9`" day of
February, 1999 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Davis, Houx, Josiassen and Chair Dolan
NOES: None

ABSTAIN: None
