child abuse and neglect prevcxition and intervention programs be eatcauraged by the funding of agencies addressing needs of children

WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors has elex:ted to apply to ttie California ll~artmc~it of Social Services
Office of Child Abuse Prevention and the Governor's Office of Criminal Justice Planning for a grant far thG Answers Benefiting
Children Program; anti
WHEREAS, the Office of Child Abuse Prevention r~uire~s 4he Butte; Ce~unry Board of Supervisors to designate a local
public agency to subnut a grant proposal far the Answe7s Benefiting Children Program; and
WHEREAS, the lot;al public agency d~ignt~ will act as the primary or lc~d grantee rc.~spcrasible far etrtt~ing into contractual
relationships with the partnership organizatic~us and with the State; and
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED as ti~llaws:
That the Butte County Board of Supervisors approves submitting an appliwiion for a grsult franc the 01'tice of Child Abuse
Prevention mid designates the Butte County Dcpartm~t of Social Welfare to apply lifr funding alid administer the Answers Benefiting
Children Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOI.VEn by the $urie County Board al' Supervisors that the Butte County Adnninistrativc OiTice~, or
hisfhv~r dt~ignex;, is hereby autharizcxl and e~rrtpowcred to apply, approve, sign and extx.ute in the name of the County of Butte any
