BY THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
TO THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION
REGARDING PROPOSAL FOR EXPANDING THE POWERS OF
COUNTY SERVICE AREA NO.4 (SIERRA DEL ORO)
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte intends to consider a
proposal to expand the powers of County Service Area No. 4 to include street lighting; and
WHEREAS, no proceeding for this change in scope of a county service area shall be
institued by this Board or requested by its members until approval of the Local Agency
Formation Commission is first obtained.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of California, as follows:
1. Application and a proposal is hereby made to the Local Agency Formation
Commission in accordance with the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization
Act of 19$5, as set forth in Division 3, Title 5 of the California Government Code
(commencing with Section 56000) to expand the powers of County Service Area N~o,
4 to include street lighting.
2. Changes of said county service area are proposed under County Service Area Law
(Chapter 2.2, Part 2, Division 2, Title i of the Government Code beginning with
Section 25210.1).
3. The following type of service is proposed to be an additional extended service to be
provided within said County Service Area No. 4: street lighting.
4. The area within which such extended services would be provided is the existing area
of County Service Area No. 4.
The Clerk of the Board is authorized and directed to file a certified copy of this
resolution with the Executive Officer of the Butte County Local Agency Formation
Commission.
