HomeMy WebLinkAbout99-118• • ~~'` '•-~°~ BOARD t~F SUPERVIvORS a~: :n. ., *' = ~,~ COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE QF CALIF©RPJTA .~ ~~. ` , G~•. _.•.w~~ Resolution No. 99-11£3 RESOLUTION APPOINTING THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SACRAMENTO RIVER RECLAMA`T'ION DISTRICT WHEREAS, Resolution 99-88 adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte on June 22, 1999, specified procedures for the election of trustees for the Sacramento River Reclamation District as provided by law; and WHEREAS, notice was duly published in accordance with said procedures and, specifically, in accordance with Water Code Section 50731.5, calling for the receipt of nomination petitions for the positions of seven trustees and giving notice that in the event there were no nominees or an insufficient number of nominees, appointments to each such office shall be made by the Board of Supervisors pursuant to Water Code X50742; and WHEREAS, the nomination period far said trustees closed on Wednesday July 28, 1999, and no nominations were received in accordance with said procedures, but seven qualified persons did express their interest to serve as trustees by attempting to submit their nominations; and WHEREAS, since there are no nominees for the Trustee positions, no election shall be required, and the Board of Supervisors may appoint the trustees of the District pursuant to Water Code Section 50742; and WHEREAS, this Board wishes to appoint as trustees of the Sacramento River Reclamation District those qualified persons who have expressed their interest to serve in such capacity, and notice has been duly published pursuant to Water Code §50741 stating that the Board will appoint the Page 1 trustees and no election gill be held. NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, does hereby resolve, pursuant to Water Code Section 50742, that the following persons shall be and are hereby appointed as Trustees of the Sacramento River Reclamation District, and such persons shall qualify, take office, and serve exactly as if elected at a general district election: Shirley Lewis Donald O'Dell James Paiva Peter D. Peterson Roy Roney Bill Waggershauser Richard Wright PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, on the 24 th day of 1lugust 1999 by the following votes: AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Haux, Josiassen, Davis and Chair Dolan.
