HomeMy WebLinkAbout99-14414 ~~~~~~~ )it ~'t`. 99-144 RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF FARM CI'T'Y CF;LEI3RATION WHEREAS, the prosperity and well-being of this community dependent upon cooperation and understanding between the two great elements of our society t~irmers and urban people; and WHEREAS. the cotnplehities of their individual problems and the divergence of their activities have lead to a lack of information and undeestandins~; and WHEREAS, this lack of information and understanding is being eliminated as each group attempts to inform and understand the other in order that our American way of life can endure; and WHEREAS, the Fr1RM-CITY t'F1_FF3RATION Committee is sponsoring many activities. including a Farmers Market, a Symphony Performance, a Farmer's Faire, F.F.A. Career Breakfast, a Bus Tour, a Kid's C)ay at the Farm, a Dogs Day SK Fun Walk-Run and a Harvest Dinner Dance. NOW, 'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the citizens of the County of Butte, designates the period of October 21 through November 20, } 999, as `FARM-CI"1'Y CEI.E~BRA"I•ION." QE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Board calls upon the citizens of this County to participate in the joint visits, and civic and social events, attendant to a successful FARM-CI fY CELEBRATION in Butte County. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 12`x' day of October 1999 by the fallowing vote: AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Houx, Josiassen, Davis and Chair Dolan NOES: None ABSI?N'I': None NOT VOTING: None ~ _ ~~ ~ _.
