A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING NOVI;VII3ER 15, 1999
"AtiIERICA RECYCLI~S DAI"' IN BUTTE COUV'CY
WHEREAS, to focus the nation's attention on the importance of recycling and
the need to stimulate the market for recycled-content products, businesses, industries,
government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and individuals have .joined together to
celebrate `'America Recycles Day" and are encouraging their employees, staff,
customers, membership and all citizens to pledge to buy more rec~~cied-content products
startin~~ on November 1 ~; and
W'IIEREAS, participating in "~~lmerica Recycles I~ay„ is one ~~<l~ citir~ns can
11e1p raise awareness about the need to reduce waste by reusing, recycfin~u. and buying
recycled products; and
WHEREAS, the theme of "America Recycles Dav" is "For Our C.'hildren's
Future...Buy Recycled Today," and
WHEREAS, State and community leaders need to spread the w«rd ahout the
excellent source reduction, recycling, Auld recycled-content procurement programs they
have established, the growth of markets fear recyclable materials, anil the importance of
buying recycled-content products; at~d
WHEREAS, Butte County is committed to achievin~~ its source reduction,
recycling and recycled-content product procurement goals identified in the Br1lte County
Source Reduction Recycling Elemeni.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that 'Monday. November l ~, l 999,
is hereby proclaimed as: `~A;vI~RICA Rh:CYCLES DAY~~ in Butte Cotiulty.
