Updates&New Information Distribution:
• Household Hazardous Waste Debris Removal
o EPA and DTSC worked in the following locations today: Lower Neil, Hamlin Canyon, Lower Pentz,
Morgan Ridge, Lower Pentz, Messilla Valley, Lower Clark, and Butte Creek. Information posted to
Twitter.
o A map is now available at ButteCountyRecovers.org/maps showing the status of the Phase I (HHW)
debris removal. EPA and DTSC created the map and update the data each day.The data is one day
behind by the time it is posted.
• Disaster Recovery Center New Hours
o Starting Sunday, December 9,the Disaster Recovery Centers in Chico and Oroville are open Monday
through Saturday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and closed Sunday.The DRC locations will close December 25,
2018 and January 1, 2019. Information was posted on social media.
• Donations
o A sentence was added to the Donate webpage to clarify that some organizations listed on the website
have an administrative fee to support operations.The following sentence was added:
o Organization providing relief to fire survivors may charge an administrative fee to support operations.
These fees vary. Please check directly with the organization with questions about administrative fees.
• Animal Shelter in Chico
o The small animal shelter at Chico Airport was set to close operations tonight at 6 pm.Animals were
transitioned to the Oroville shelter and are available for pick up starting tomorrow, December 7 at 3 pm.
