The measure would allow for commercial cannabis activity in most areas of the county and repeal local land use restrictions. At the last meeting, public information officer Casey Hatcher gave u presentation on the potential effects of Measure Land/or staLe|eveU Proposition 64, which would legalize adult marijuana use. According to the staff report, the board feels the local measure would repeal six years of marijuana regulations in the county and be burden to public safety. This was the first year a management series was held, taught by county department heads. At the meeting, the projects completed by participants, regarding county services/program outreach, a countywide intern program, energy-related issues and ahorma||zed wellness program, will be presented. Representatives from the California State Association of Counties will be in attendance at the meeting to present awards to the county's Probation Department for its Strengthening Families program and the library and behavioral health department for their Each Mind Matters program. Several re- appointments to the Butte County Children and Families Commission will be requested. Those members include: Supervisor Maureen Kirk, Mark Lundberg, Sandra Moch|da, Tm||m Scherquis%, Karen Mar|at1, Tim Taylor and Lorenzo Tobias. The board may also apprmvom letter to the C|q/ ofG,|dAey, which states that if the city could insure its pool and the county could getc�earance from the county's Public Health Department, the board would discuss keeping the pool open while the city worked on getting a replacement.
