[did not speak as I did not fee! I had the strength at that time but this did not indicate a lack of conviction on my part on this issue. {also just thinking about turning ninety on the next day was daunting). When the growers first started growing "pot" in my subdivision it was (and still is) against the neighborhood covenants of our development. They claimed medical reasons. The down side beside the obvious were the chickens, dogs, rats, radios and lights. One neighbor was regularly throwing dead rats over the fence into my yard. I lost the use of my back yard. Planting was done close to my fence so size of the lots became irrelevant. Also when they first began growing there were growers an three sides of my lot but one grower left the area. I have put in a new fence 6 feet high, with stronger gates and a motion light to try to insulate myself from these neighbors. Because marijuana is a lucrative commercial crop it's natural to guard this crop. I have heard guns being fired at times and I will never forget the warning shot fired at me when I was watering tomato plants in the garden area of my back yard. It went by me very close and very loud. I remember shouting hey, what's going on or something like that then I tried to call a person next door on the phone and discovered that I couldn't hear. Hearing has returned but not to the level it was. I have had severe asthma for a long time and having the marijuana next to me has made it so much more difficult to breath. I spend as little time as I can in the yard, have home air cleaner and use oxygen at night As of May first this year I will have lived in this house forty eight years. I appreciate the vote of Supervisor Wahl in favor of restrictions on growing marijuana on small properties and in established developments and am hopeful that the rest of the Supervisors will consider reasonable restrictions that will improve the health and safety of the residents. Sincerely, Dorothy Borgquist
