On March 22,2017, Butte LAFCO held an election (original correspondence attached)for both a Special District Regular
"Non-Enterprise" Member and a Special District Alternate Member, either"Enterprise" or"Non-Enterprise". Ballots
were requested to be returned no later than 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 19,2017. As of 4:05 p.m.on Friday, May 19,2017,
ten (10) ballots were returned. Those districts who participated include:
• Feather River Recreation and Park District
• Paradise Recreation and Park District
• Gridley-Biggs Cemetery District
• Lake Oroville Area Public Utility District
• Butte County Mosquito &Vector Control District
+ Thompson Flat Cemetery District
• Western Canal Water District
• Paradise Cemetery District
+ Oroville Cemetery District
• Chico Area Recreation and Park District
The initial election period was extended until Friday,July 21, 2017. As of 4:05 p.m., on Friday,July 21, 2017, an
additional seven (7) ballots returned. In addition to the above listed districts,the following districts participated:
• Thermalito Water&Sewer District
• South Feather Water& Power Agency
• Lake Madrone Water District
• Reclamation District#833
• Richvale Recreation & Park District
• Durham Irrigation District
• Rock Creek Reclamation District
On July 21st,the election period was extended again until Friday, September 22, 2017. Please remember that
this election is and will not be valid, until ballots are received from a quorum of districts (21)
and that this process will continue to repeat until such time ballots are received from a
majority of the districts. Those districts who have already submitted their votes need not
vote a ain•however, those who have not your participation is requested.
Current Special District LAFCO representatives will continue to serve until such time a valid election is concluded or their
term of office expires.
Attached, as previously provided, is a memorandum explaining the process, which provides simple instructions and a
ballot (Election Ballot 7-21-2017, 5-19-2017).
This is an important ballot, as your Special District LAFCO Commissioner will be
making decisions on budget issues, policies and projects, that may have a direct
impact on your district. Please participate in this election by submitting your
vote.

DATE: July 21, 2017
The Butte Local Agency Formation Commission is extending its election for both a:
• One(1) Special District Regular"Non-Enterprise" Member; and
® One(1) Special District Alternate Member, either"Enterprise"or"Non-Enterprise",
Terms of office for both seats will begin are scheduled to begin June 1, 2017 and expire in May of 2021.
Instructions:
1. Votes shall be made by official action of the Districts' Board of Directors.
2. Ballots shall be certified by the signature of the Chair, or an alternate District Board Member
chosen by the Districts' Board for the purpose of signing the attached ballot AND counter-signed
by the Districts' General Manager/Secretary of Board,
3. District ballots shall be returned no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017. Ballots
postmarked after the closing date will not be accepted.
4. Districts may submit their ballots one of the following ways:

ballot.

6. If you do not have a District Board meeting scheduled within this time frame, a special meeting
shall be scheduled in order to submit a valid ballot.
