From:Alice M Patterson, [mailto:ampatterson@csuchico.edu] Sent:Thursday, March 1, 2018 8:45 AM To: Boards of Supervisors Subject: Upcoming CPUC Broadband Forum Dear County Supervisors: On behalf of the Northeastern California Connect Consortium, we would like to share with you the California Public Utilities Commission's (CPUC) upcoming California Advanced Services Fund Public (CASF) Forum. The CPUC is conducting workshops (public forums) to consult regional consortia, stakeholders, and consumers regarding priority areas and cost effective strategies for improved broadband access and adoption.The workshop for our region will take place on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the Oroville Council Chambers— please see the attached agenda for more information. We realize that this is short notice, however, we are communicating this information to you as soon as we are receiving it. The Forum will also offer the opportunity for public and written comments regarding AB 1665's Phase 1: Broadband Adoption Account and Phase 11: Broadband Infrastructure Account. Currently, the Consortium is reviewing AB 1665's guidelines and will provide analysis to be shared with you and at the Forum. Please feel free to use our analysis should you want to participate in the public comment section of the Forum or submit written comments by March 16, 2018, for Phase I (Adoption) and April 2, 2018, for Phase 11 (Infrastructure) to David Espinoza, Consortia Manager (cc'd on this email). Additionally, the Consortium will identify priority project areas to also be shared at the Forum and in written comments. Feedback to validate these areas from our cities andl counties will be solicited next week. Please feel free to forward this information to other interested parties.
