NOTICE OF PUBLIC SOLICITATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF NIONPOINT SOURCE PERMITS ON FEDERAL LANDS IN THE CENTRAL VALLEY AND LAHONTAN WATER BOARD REGIONS The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Central Valley Water Board) and Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board (Lahontan Water Board) have recently initiated efforts to develop Nonpoint Source (NPS) permits applicable to federal land management projects or activities that occur on United States Forest Service (USFS) and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) managed lands within the Central Valley and Lahontan Water Board regions. You are receiving this announcement because your email address is subscribed to an email notification service associated with an activity or topic that is relevant to this permit development or because we received information from another party indicating that you may be interested in the development of a federal lands NPS permit. It is expected that the proposed NIPS permits will not be adopted by the Water Boards until 2019 and there will be multiple opportunities for public involvement. The Central Valley and Lahontan Water Boards are interested in receiving your input early and throughout the permit development process to ensure stakeholder interests and, concerns are addressed adequately. The Water Boards have created the attached Fact Sheet to provide stakeholders with preliminary information regarding this project. Additionally, a webpage has been set up to provide stakeholders with additional details of the project as they become available. This webpage may be accessed at wwwwaterboards.ca,,qov/federaiNPSpermit On this webpage, you will find a link to the email subscription service that has been set up for this project. Interested stakeholders may sign up for this service to receive periodic email notifications related to the development of this permit including, but not limited to: meeting schedules, draft documents, Board hearing information, and environmental analysis. Please take our short (5 minute) Federal INIPS Stakeholder Survey The Central Valley and Lahontan Water Boards are also asking those that are interested in participating in this permit development process to take a short survey accessible by the below link. Survey responses will be used to help focus future stakeholder meeting topics and questions and to ensure that, to the extent feasible, the Water Board is able to address all stakeholder issues and concerns. Please, co�mplete this survey by Friday, June 30, 2017.
