The Project is located on Butte. Creek and the West Branch Feather River in Butte County, California. As part of the Project relicensing process, PG&E f~le`its most recenYapplcation forwater qual~tyc~rtification (WQC) under s~ctiori 401 of the Clean Water Act with the State Water Resources Control Board {State Water-Board) on March ~, 2013. Prior to issuance of WQC, the State Water Board must comply with the Califamia Environmental Quali#y Act (CEQA). The State Water Board is the lead agency under CEQA. As lead agency, in accordance with CEQA, the State Wafer Board is releasing fhe environmental documents for public comment These documents include the draft Initial Study (IS) and proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND}. Although not required, State Water Board staff is also accepting comments on the draft WQC. " The Slate Wafer Board will accept writfen comments on fhe draft IS/proposed MND and draff WQC anti! ?2:00 pm (noon) on June 73, 2093.
