Eligible homeowners and renters may be able to receive grant money for lasses not covered by
insurance to help pay for basic home repairs,temporary rental assistance and other needs. This grant
money does not need to be paid back.
You must register:

Crisis Counseling
Survivors who may be stressed, anxious or depressed fallowing the wildfires can receive free disaster
crisis counseling. Survivors who wish to speak to a counselor may call (800) 985-5990 or text
Talkwithus@66746. Counseling does not require registering with FEMA..
Disaster Legal Services
FEMA, through an agreement with the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association,
provides limited free legal help for survivors. Disaster Legal Services provides assistance to low-
income individuals who, prior to or because of the disaster, are unable to secure adequate legal services

Registration Fraud
FEMA recently became aware of potentially suspicious activity related to the recovery from hurricanes
and wildfires including fraudulent registrations. FEMA and its partners are taking necessary steps to
determine impacts of the fraudulent activities and implement long-terra solutions. If survivors suspect
fraud, there are several options for survivors to report suspicious activity. They can contact the
Department of Homeland Security (IHS)Office of Inspector General (OIG) at 1-8010-323-8603, TTS'
1-844-889-4357. A fraud complaint may also be completed online at the OIG's
website, http://www.oig.dlis. v, faxed to 202-2544297 or mailed to: DHS Office of Inspector
