INVOLVING THE TRANSFER OF UP TO 15,000 ACRE-FEET OF WATER
FROM MERGED IRRIGATION DISTRICT
TO SAN LUIS WATER DISTRICT AND WESTLAND$ WATER DISTRICT
UNDER LICENSE 2685 (APPLICATION 1224]

On July 15, 2013, Merced Irrigation District (MID) filed a petition for temporary change to transfer up to
15,000 acre feet of water pursuant to Water Code section 1725 et seq., under water right License 2E85 (Application
1224). The water will be transferred to San Luis Water District (San Luis} and Westlands Water District
(Westlands). The proposed change will include the addition of the following to License 2685: 1) the Central Valley
Project's (CVP) Jones Pumping Plant, the State Water Project's Banks Pumping Plant, and Patterson Irrigation
District's Pumping Plant as additional points of rediversion; and 2) the CVP place of use in order to facilitate the
transfer to San Luis and Westlands. Temporary changes under Water Code section 1725 may be effective for a
