Water Boards Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING - REVISED DATE An Amendment to the Water Quality Control Plans for the Sacramento River and San Joaquin River Basins and the Tulare Lake Basin to Incorporate a Process into the Basin Plans for Determining Appropriate Designation and Level of Protection of Municipal and Domestic Supply (MUN) in Agriculturally Dominated Water Bodies NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Central Valley Water Board will conduct a hearing to consider adoption of a proposed amendment (the "Proposed Amendment")to the Water Quality Control Plans for the Sacramento River and San Joaquin River Basins and the Tulare Lake Basin (Basin Plans). The Proposed Amendment will establish a region-wide process for evaluating the Municipal and Domestic Supply (MUN) beneficial use in agriculturally dominated surface water bodies. The hearing, originally scheduled for 819 June 2017, will now be held at the following Board meeting: Date: 10111 August 2017 (Please contact staff two weeks prior to the meeting for the exact date.) Place: Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board 11020 Sun Center Drive, #200 Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 The hearing date has been revised to allow Board staff the opportunity to fully address comments that suggested non-substantive revisions to the Proposed Amendment to help ensure consistency between the Proposed Amendment and the Board's Irrigated Lands Regulatory Program. The Central Valley Water Board has previously circulated the Proposed Amendment, draft Staff Report, and environmental checklist for public comment from 23 January 2017 to 24 March 2017. In addition, the Board conducted a hearing to receive oral comments on 23 February 2017. At the August hearing, the Board will consider all written comments concerning the Proposed Amendment, draft Staff Report, and an environmental checklist that were received during the public comment period (23 January 2017 to 24 March 2017) and all oral comments that were received at the 23 February 2017 hearing. The Board will also consider any responses provided by Board staff and will consider adoption of the Proposed Amendment, including any proposed revisions. The Board will allow limited oral comments at the August hearing. Comments at the August hearing will be limited in scope to those issues already raised during the public comment period and to any changes made to the Proposed Amendment, draft Staff Report, and environmental checklist since the initial drafts were circulated. Oral presentations will be limited to 3 minutes at the discretion of the Board Chair. Groups are encouraged to designate a spokesperson.
