This PSR would be used as a Plan Line Study to set the footprint for the interchange and corridor to allow the City to provide proposed development with the Right of Way requirements. The corridor limits are Southgate Avenue west of SR 99 to Midway and east of SR 99 to Skyway. What improvements are being considered? Preliminary studies are being reviewed for the following improvements: • Interchange options at SR99/Southgate Lane • Alignment options for a new connection west of SR99 to Midway • Alignment options for anew connection east of SR99 to Skyway • Alignment options for a frontage road connection from Southgate Lane to Entler Drive What has been done so far? The first public workshop was held in November of 2008, and a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) comprised of a select group of County, City, and Caltrans officials along with area businesses and residents has met several times to discuss the project impacts. Following the initial workshop, the proposed roadway alignments were reviewed to address public comments. Additionally, the Draft Traffic Report has been submitted for review, and preliminary project costs have been identified. A draft Project Study Report is anticipated to be completed in mid April 2009. What is the workshop obiective? The meeting's objective is to review updates to the proposed improvements, share results of recent TAC meetings, review project costs and impacts, and to solicit input from the public on the study approach, proposed alignments, and any other area of concern. The public will be given the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments on the proposed project. A brief presentation is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. The format will be informal.
