The following information is provided pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 25180.7
(Proposition 65)
On April 6, 2012, at approximately 07'30 hours, aFed-Ex package delivery truck was attempting
to make a westbound turn from northbound Stimpsan Road onto westbound Cox Lane. A truck
tractor with trailer was westbound on Cox Lane approaching Stimpson Road. The Fed-Ex driver
turned westbound into the path of the truck tractor. This impact caused the truck tractor to
overturn into the residential property on the south side of Cox Lane. The truck tractors right side
fuel tank cracked and spilled approximately 70 gallons of diesel fuel into the residential field.
Ramos Environmental was contracted to provide clean-up for the release. The contamination
showed no visible signs of contaminating any nearby waterways.
CAL Fire representatives were on scene as well as Butte County Environmental Health
representatives. The contamination by the diesel fuel did not represent a significant hazard, and
it did not cause risk or substantial injury to the public safety or health.
This report is submitted on behalf of all designated employees of the Department of California
Highway Patrol. Please feel free to contact my office if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
M. SHERMAN, Lieutenant
Commander
