All a result, all redevelopment agencies were to be dissolved as of February 1, 2012, pursuant to Part 1.85 {commencing with Section 34170) of Division 24 of the California Health and Safety Code. As provided in AB 1X 26, on January 9, 2012, the City of Oroville elected to serve as the successor agency to the Oroville Redevelopment Agency and is required to carry out specific duties. The primary role of the successor agency is to continue to make payments on, and perform obligations pursuant to, all enforceable obligations of the former redevelopment agency. AB 1X 26 also provides that each successor agency have an oversight board composed of seven members as outlined on the attachment to this letter. The purpose of this letter is to request that your entity make the appointment(s) as provided in section 34179 of the Health and Safety Code. Please provide the name, title, address, email and telephone number of the individuals} your entity appoints to the oversight board to the City Administrator of the City of Oroville as soon as possible. We anticipate .convening the oversight board in March 2012 for an orientationloverview. It is expected the board will begin conducting regular meetings in April 2012.
