I am also very interested in the possibility of providing solar power to the County and will continue to stay engaged in further discussions as the one we had last week with Supervisor Teeter, Brian Ring and others involved in the decision-making on this topic. I will be in attendance at the meeting on August 8 and would be willing to provide the Board with information regarding the project and any other information on solar related topics that I can. 1 Thanks to the County and the Board of Supervisors for continuing to push the renewable energy agenda and making renewable energy resources readily available for residents and businesses of Butte County. This ground-breaking legislative initiative is changing the century-old utility model and California is at the forefront of this change. Of particular note is the ability of CCAs to adapt to - and take advantage of- new technologies, rate structures and business models at a pace that reflects how these issues are evolving in the real world. As a developer, I welcome the opportunity to initiate a dialogue between solar(and DER) energy providers and the"utility" (i.e. the CCA) with a greater level of transparency and collaboration, in order to facilitate the goals of reduced energy cost to customers, more local, renewable energy, and local economic development. I would like to offer my strong support for initiating a feasibility study for a Butte County CCA, and would be happy to entertain any further discussion and answer any questions about why I think this would be a benefit to the community.
