Oroville, CA 95965 Re: Support for Clean Energy District Dear Butte County Supervisors: OFFICE OF THE Mayor 530-538-2535 eawnoF ~~ The Oroville City Council received a presentation by Ygrene Energy Fund related to the establishment of a Clean Energy District in Butte County. As you are well aware, clean energy production is vital to energy independence and can have a positive impact on the reduction of greenhouse gases. The establishment of a Clean Energy District in Butte County, coupled with the ability to fund green energy improvements through property assessments, is a novel approach and one that merits serious consideration by the Board of Supervisors. We are in support of this type of program because it will enable numerous residents of the City to install energy saving and/or energy producing improvements to real properky who would otherwise be unable to afford those improvements. The establishment of a county-wide Clean Energy District would create local fobs, which are sorely needed by our residents in the current economy. In addition, clean energy improvements purchased through this method will allow citizens to reduce their energy expenses in a cost effective manner. In short, the City Council of the City of Oroville supports the creation of a Clean Energy District in Butte County. We appreciate your consideration of this matter. Sincerely, Lin a L.
