Notice of Availability

Today, Nov. 1, 2017, the Delta Stewardship Council (Council), pursuant to the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), released the Delta Plan
Amendments Draft Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) for a 47-day
public review and comment period.
As part of this release, Council staff is hosting two public open houses, one in
Stockton and one in Sacramento. For more information on these events,

A public hearing will also be held in West Sacramento to receive comments on
the Draft PEIR. The public hearing is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. to 7:04 p.m.,
Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at the Civic Center Galleria, 1110 West Capitol
Ave., West Sacramento, CA.

The Draft PEIR analyzes the potentially significant environmental effects of
proposed amendments to the Delta Plan, consisting of the Delta Levees
Investment and Risk Reduction Strategy; Conveyance, Storage Systems, and
the Operation of Both; and Performance Measures.
The Delta Reform Act of 2009 (Act), requires the development of a legally
enforceable, comprehensive, long-term management plan for the Delta,
referred to as the Delta Plan.
The Delta Plan, adopted by the Council in 2013, and amended in 2016, is a
legally enforceable, comprehensive, long-term management plan for the Delta
and the Suisun Marsh that furthers the coequal goals (Water Code section
85300(a)).
The open houses are opportunities for the public to meet with Council staff
and discuss how the Draft PEIR is organized and gather information to help in
their review. Written comments may also be submitted during the open
houses.
Oral comments will be received during the formal public hearing. Written
comments on the Draft PEIR's environmental analyses are requested and
invited from agencies, organizations, and individuals.
All comments received, including names and addresses, will become part of
the official administrative record and may be made available to the public.
E-mailed comments will be accepted from November 1, 2017 through 5:00
p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2017. Mailed comments must be postmarked
by Monday, December 18, 2017.
