The Interagency Ecological Program (IEP) is a consortium of three state and
six federal agencies that all have some responsibility overseeing the
ecological health of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
But each of their individual missions or mandates may not always mesh
seamlessly.
In this new video, IEP Lead Scientist Steve Culberson, Ph.D., explains how
he's in charge of taking the mosaic of information the various agencies
generate and assembling a complete picture.
He then works to balance the resource needs of each agency, as well as the
expenditure of those resources, so as to get as complete a picture as is
possible about the overall ecological needs of the Delta.
This proactive approach allows for a better understanding on how the
collective work of the agencies might offer better possible outcomes for the
Estuary we care about.
